Thuốc từ củ nghệ
Trong các loại cây lấy củ làm thuốc thì nghệ là cây rất quen thuộc được nhân dân ta dùng làm thuốc trị nhiều chứng bệnh. Tùy từng loại vàng, đen, trắng mà tác dụng chữa bệnh của chúng cũng khác nhau. Xin giới thiệu để bạn đọc tham khảo.
Nghệ vàng: còn gọi là nghệ, tên khoa học là Curcuma longa L., họ. Bộ phận dùng làm thuốc là rễ củ. Củ nghệ chứa tinh dầu màu vàng thơm carbua terpenic, zingiberen,… Theo Đông y, nghệ vàng vị đắng, cay, thơm, hắc, tính ấm, làm thông kinh, chỉ thống, tiêu mủ, kích thích lên da non, thông gan mật, hủy cholesterol máu. Tinh dầu nghệ diệt nấm, kháng khuẩn. Nghệ vàng được dùng làm thuốc chữa các chứng bệnh:

- Điều kinh, bế kinh, vàng da sau khi sinh: nghệ vàng, củ gấu, quả quất còn xanh, cả 3 thứ sấy khô tán bột với mật ong làm thành viên uống hằng ngàỵ
- Viêm âm đạo: bột nghệ vàng 30g, phèn chua 20g, hàn the 20g, sắc với 500ml nước, lọc bỏ bã dùng thụt rửa âm đạo.
- Cao dán mụn nhọt: nghệ vàng 60g, củ ráy 80g, nhựa thông 40g, sáp ong 40g, dầu vừng 80g. Tất cả giã nhuyễn, trộn đều, phết lên giấy làm cao dán.
- Làm mờ sẹo: Cắt lát củ nghệ xát lên sẹo đang lên da non.
- Vết thương phần mềm: bột nghệ 30g, bột rau má 60g, phèn chua 10g. Tất cả tán nhuyễn dùng băng bó vết thương.
- Viêm loét dạ dày tá tràng đại tràng: bột nghệ 10g, bạch truật 10g uống hằng ngàỵ

Nghệ đen:
Còn gọi là nghệ xanh, nghệ tím, nga truật… Tên khoa học là Curcuma zedoaria. Củ chứa tinh dầu sesquiterpen, zingiberen, cineol. Theo Đông y, nghệ đen vị đắng, cay, thơm, hăng, hơi ấm, có công năng phá tích, tán kết, hành khí, chỉ thống, thông kinh lạc, khai vị. Nghệ đen được dùng làm thuốc trong các trường hợp:
- Đau bụng lạnh từng cơn, tích trệ: nghệ đen 40g, mộc hương 20g. Tất cả tán bột trộn đều. Mỗi lần uống 2g với dấm loãng.
- Bế kinh, hành kinh máu vón cục: nghệ đen 15g, ích mẫu 15g. Sắc uống hằng ngàỵ
Nghệ trắng: Còn gọi là ngải trắng, ngải mọi, ngải sải. Tên khoa học là Curcuma aromatica, là cây mọc hoang và trồng lấy củ thơm làm gia vị. Thân rễ chứa tinh dầu và chất đắng curcumin. Theo Đông y, nghệ trắng vị cay tính mát, hành khí, giải uất, lương huyết, lợi mật, trừ vàng da. Nghệ trắng được dùng làm thuốc trong chữa các chứng bệnh:

- Chữa ho gà, thấp khớp: giã 10g nghệ trắng, tẩm rượu, cho vào lọ kín, hấp cách thủy trong 1 giờ, chắt lấy nước uống trong ngày.
- Đau bụng kinh, bổ máu sau khi sinh: nghệ trắng 20g, lá nhọ nồi 20g, củ gấu 20g, lá mần tưới 20g, tô mộc 16g, ngải cứu 12g. Tất cả sao vàng sắc với 400ml nước còn khoảng 100ml, chia 2 lần uống trong ngàỵ
- Phong thấp, bong gân, sai khớp: củ nghệ trắng 10g, rễ ô đầu 10g, nhân hạt gấc 10g. Tất cả giã nhỏ, ngâm rượu với mật gấu hay mật trăn sau 1 tháng là được, dùng xoa bóp.
- Chảy máu cam, nôn ra máu, đái ra máu, viêm gan: nghệ trắng, địa long (giun đất), đơn bì, chi tử mỗi vị 10g. Sắc uống ngày 1 thang.
